One who like the moon in a cloudless sky is pure, clear, and serene, and in whom the craving for existence is extinct, him I call a Brahman.


離垢した清浄な月の如く、明浄にて濁り無く、三界に対する歓喜渇愛を遍尽せる彼を、私は婆羅門[＝阿羅漢]と言う。

One who ins this world has transcended both ties good and evil, who has freed from the bonds (of lust, hatred, delusion, pride, and false view), and who is sorrowless, stainless, and pure, him I call a Brahman.


この世において善と悪と、その二つの執着を捨て去り、憂い無く、離塵した、清浄なる彼を、私は婆羅門[＝阿羅漢]と言う。
